5800-DRIVEN GEARS
This part is the small driven gear which fits on the transmission end of the speedometer drive cable. We offer several different tooth counts for the various transmissions as found in all models of the 1960-1970 Ford Falcon & Mercury Comet.

Due to the numerous variables concerned in determining the correct gear for a specific vehicle, we do not have the ability to state which gear is correct for your vehicle. Here is a formula that will help you decide which gear is best for your application:

# driven teeth = # drive teeth X axle ratio X tire rev. per mile/ 1001
Tire rev. per mile = 20168/ tire diameter in inches

If you can determine whether your speedometer is reading too slow or too fast, it is worth noting that a lower # of teeth will cause it to turn faster versus a higher # of teeth to turn slower
